About Me…

I am Korina and some of you may already know me by blog www.thesauchalife.com where I started journaling back in 2016 my transition to a healthy, wholesome, nutritionally rich plant based lifestyle.

A bit earlier than that I started studying Nutritional Therapy at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, where I was living at that time. In April of the same year I got diagnosed with Stage 4 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Being a cancer patient under standard oncology care made me realise the knowledge deficit of the standard oncology/ haematology medical community on how nutrition and lifestyle interventions can support the cancer diagnosis, which surely helped me a lot during my cancer journey.

My practice follows the disciplines of Functional medicine model and I a certified BANT (British association of Nutritional therapists) practitioner in cancer support (NTEC certified). My approach to cancer is steeped in the disciplines of Integrative Oncology ie. integrating lifestyle, exercise, relaxation and other holistic approaches (such as yoga and acupuncture to name a few) in supporting the quality of life of cancer patients.

THE SAUCHA LIFE

The Saucha Life blog documents my transition to a healthy, clean, and nutritionally rich lifestyle. I follow a plant-based diet, without animal products, sugar, and gluten. My goal is to prove that plant-based cooking is not only nutritious but also easy, quick, and incredibly delicious! This is the philosophy of Saucha: clean, real food that nourishes the mind, body, and soul!

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns.

Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

Personalised nutrition is tailored specifically for you, taking into account your health journey, your health goals and dietary preferences. The practitioner may use functional tests to inform the recommendations that are based on your unique biological individuality.

Who would benefit from a nutritional therapy consultation?

Everyone really, everyone who wants to improve their health and perform on their peak. Nutritional therapy has really good results with:

Digestive diseases such as celiac, IBS, Crohn’s, GORD, SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and generally anyone who suffers from bloating, flatulence and maldigestion.

Reproductive diseases such as Polycystic ovaries syndrome, endometriosis, infertility, menopause.

Autoimmune diseases such as eczema, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis.

Hormonal issues such as Diabetes and Hyper/hypo-thyroidism.

Cardiovascular diseases such as high cholesterolaemia, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis.

Cancer, this is an area that is very close to home as I’ve been a lymphoma cancer patient myself so have a first hand experience on how much nutrition can support cancer patients.

General fatigue and lower energy issues, probably that is the most common symptom for someone to see a nutritional therapist.

Find the program that suits you!

I primarily work through one-to-one online consultations. In parallel to the one to one consultations we also offer one or two month group programs which provide a more flexible (they are completed at your own time), fun (they are completed by doing weekly food challenges) and affordable way to support your health.
